Military Spouse House and The Goal

Many of you might be thinking "What the hell is a 'Military Spouse House'"? Well to be completely honest, sometimes I'm not even sure. All I know is this blog is meant to help other Military spouses and to shine light on subjects many shy away from.

Being a military spouse isn't always happy homecomings and what many assume is a good paycheck. Many spouses have daily jobs and then try and spend time with their spouses when they can. Surprise deployments and long work days are an everyday thing for us. Realizing you either can't tell anyone where they're going or you don't even know yourself. Is a scary reality for us. Having a set date for your spouse to come home only to find out a few days before it will be another week or two. It's not an easy life.

In my situation my husband and I are in Okinawa, Japan. Yes it is very beautiful and has many things to do, but we are across the globe from our family in Kansas. My mother works nights back home so I can talk to her more than others, but the reality is you have to live without being near the ones you love. There have been many situations that I wish I was a Time Lord (sorry, couldn't help myself) and travel back home in an instant. Sadly I am no Time Lord nor do I have a time machine.

Some people ask "Why would you marry him if that's the lifestyle?"  Because I love my husband, I chose him, the lifestyle was just part of the deal. All of the heartache, all of the hardships are worth it. To live with my husband and enjoy the life we have is all that matters to me.
